We indulged in some very nice culinary finds nearby, like Jarry Smoked Meat just a short 1 km away. The cream cheese bagels at Eggcetera were a breakfast dream come true! The staff was also super helpful, our check-in was smooth and hassle-free.

Everything was very good during 4 days, appreciated its unbeatable and decent location really close to groceries and so many stores. I had tidy and cheap double room. The location was magnificent, the rooms were tidy. I found nice Mcdonald's by accident, it was at a walking distance from the hotel.

Did not like that much the general appearance but the room (recently upgraded I think) was nice and super clean with little fridge, ac, wi-fi and a good tv. No cofee maker. Nice bed and clean sheets. Sometimes, you can hear steps and jumps from other rooms. Good breakfast (more than cereal and toasts). Nice staff, especially the blonde lady in the dining room. Not in downtown but very convinient location and parking if you have a car. Good price and good alternative for us.
The general appearance (like motel style). Noise from other rooms.

One of the reception staff (Guatemalan lady-Andrea) was very understanding and tried to help us at all times.
Absolutely no air conditioning or fans in the breakfast area (in July squealtering temperatures)...our clothes stuck to the back of the wooden dining chairs!!! The Manager ( named Cathy ) was not very professional...leading us to argue over the adjusted room rate which was offered by Andrea, the Guatemalan receptionist. This was latter settled reluctantly with a telephone call from Cathy after we had returned to Toronto. Do not state "renovated rooms" in your description of this hotels...only to be assigned a room that was obviously not renovated and containing 50 year old furniture!!!

We enjoyed our stay with the kids, especially being just 10 minutes from downtown Montreal where we explored the local culture and even caught some outdoor fest fun. The room was comfortable and well-suited for our family's needs.
My kids wished there were more kid-friendly menu options at the restaurant.

The hotel was "affordable", relative to Montreal Hotel prices. But $280 for two nights in a down-at-the-heel, scruffy establishment is too much. Montreal really needs to do a lot of work to bring its hotels up to standard relative to the prices demanded.
